Kylian Mbappé, the forward for Real Madrid, has revealed that he was willing to forgo his long-standing dream of joining the Spanish club in order to help secure his brother Ethan’s future at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
Mbappé, who joined Real Madrid last summer as a free agent after leaving PSG, explained that he considered extending his stay with the French club to help his brother’s career. Ethan, who also left PSG, subsequently joined Lille as a free agent.
In an interview with Canal+, Mbappé shared: “It was the most difficult decision for me. Ethan didn’t ask for anything. For him, PSG was as significant as Real Madrid was to me—his childhood dream. At one point, I even told him, ‘If you want me to, I’ll extend my contract here, and we can stay.’ I would have given up my dream of Madrid for him.”
He continued: “But Ethan told me, ‘I don’t want to stay here. What they did to you, and what they did to me, is not normal.’ If he had asked me, ‘Kylian, this is what I want,’ I would have stayed for him.”
