The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has dispelled reports that some members of the Super Eagles tested positive for COVID-19 in Austria, ahead of their international friendly against Algeria on Friday.
The NFF made this known on its Twitter handle, and urged Nigerians to ignore the information, which it described as “blatant falsehood.”
The Glasshouse also revealed that the results of the COVID-19 tests carried out on the Eagles players were still being awaited.
“Please discountenance any reports that some of our players tested positive to COVID 19 ahead of tomorrow’s friendly game against Algeria. It is a blatant falsehood,” NFF tweeted.
“The writer of the story, who was not part of the press conference earlier today (Thursday), totally misrepresented what coach Rohr said that since the outbreak of the pandemic, that four of our players had tested positive to COVID-19 but were all now fully recovered from the virus and back in action.
