Tobi Amusan won the women’s 100m hurdles at the Diamond League on Sunday in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
Amusan crossed the finish line in 12.33 seconds to win her third Diamond League title in a row. Jasmine Camacho-Quin was second in 12.38 seconds, and Kendra Harrison was third.
The 2023 season of Amusan has been marred by scandal.
She was provisionally suspended by the Athletics Integrity Unity (AIU) in the run-up to the 2023 World Athletics Championships for allegedly “missing three tests in 12 months.”
Her participation in the world championship was jeopardized until three days before the competition when she was cleared of the accusation.
Amusan failed to defend her global title in Budapest, finishing sixth in the final at Hungary’s National Athletics Centre.
Following her title defense’s failure, the 27-year-old commented about her time on the bench and how her position “could have been worse.”
The athlete stated that he would return “stronger and better.”
