Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembélé has declared Inter Miami captain and former teammate Lionel Messi as the greatest footballer of all time.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference ahead of PSG’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final second-leg clash against Aston Villa, the French international reflected on his time at Barcelona and his admiration for the Argentine icon.
“I love playing for this PSG team, it’s a pleasure,” Dembélé said, as quoted by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. “Best team ever for me? I don’t know, as I also played at Barça with Messi, who’s the best player ever.”
Dembélé and Messi shared the pitch during their stint at Barcelona before Messi’s departure in 2021. The duo formed part of a star-studded attacking line-up that thrilled fans across Europe.
Now at PSG, Dembélé has been instrumental in the club’s campaign, playing a key role in securing the Ligue 1 title under manager Luis Enrique.
