Cristiano Ronaldo, the legendary Portuguese forward, is reportedly finalizing a monumental contract extension with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. The deal, valued at a staggering €200 million annually, will see the 39-year-old earn an unprecedented €3.8 million per week, according to reports from Saudi media outlet Al Khabar (via AS).

This lucrative agreement, which includes €200 million in base salary and an additional €60 million from image rights, cements Ronaldo’s position as the world’s highest-paid footballer.

Ronaldo rejoined Manchester United in 2021, marking a triumphant return with 24 goals in his first season. However, his second stint at Old Trafford turned tumultuous due to escalating tensions with manager Erik ten Hag. The discord culminated in November 2022 when Ronaldo’s candid interview with Piers Morgan laid bare his grievances with the club’s management and ownership.

The fallout led to a mutual termination of his contract with Manchester United. Shortly afterward, Ronaldo joined Al Nassr, signing one of football’s most lucrative deals and embarking on a new chapter in the Middle East.

Since his move to Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has been in scintillating form, scoring 75 goals in 84 appearances for Al Nassr. This remarkable tally brings his career total to an astonishing 917 goals, as he inches closer to his dream of 1,000 career strikes.

The reported extension will keep Ronaldo at Al Nassr until June 2026, aligning with the FIFA World Cup in the same year—a potential swan song for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner on the international stage.

As Ronaldo turns 40 in February, his sustained dominance on the pitch and record-breaking earnings reaffirm his legendary status in football. With this extension, he not only solidifies his influence in the Saudi Pro League but also sets a high benchmark for global sports earnings.

Ronaldo’s journey continues to captivate fans worldwide, proving that even in his late 30s, he remains a force to be reckoned with both on and off the field.
