Chelsea capped off a remarkable FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a resounding 3-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the final, securing the prestigious title alongside a haul of individual accolades.
Despite PSG entering the clash as favourites—particularly after their emphatic 4-0 win over Real Madrid in the semi-final—it was Chelsea who seized control early on. Cole Palmer delivered a masterclass performance, netting twice and providing an assist for new signing Joao Pedro, who added the third before halftime. The dominant first-half display proved too much for PSG, who struggled to respond after the break.
Palmer’s outstanding contributions throughout the tournament, punctuated by his decisive showing in the final, earned him the Player of the Tournament award. Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez also took home the Golden Glove, having kept three clean sheets across the competition.
Despite PSG’s struggles in the final, young talent Desire Doue was named Young Player of the Tournament for his breakout performances on the world stage. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Garcia walked away with the Golden Boot, having scored five goals during the tournament.
