Arsenal delivered a commanding performance on Tuesday night, thrashing Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie at the Emirates Stadium.
After a goalless first half, the Gunners came alive in the second half, with Declan Rice scoring a brace and Mikel Merino adding another to secure a significant advantage ahead of next week’s return leg in Madrid.
In the other quarter-final clash, Inter Milan triumphed 2-1 over Bayern Munich. Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring for the visitors, only for Thomas Muller to equalize for the Bavarians. However, Davide Frattesi’s quick-fire strike sealed the win for Inter, giving them the upper hand in the tie as they head back to Milan.
The remaining Champions League quarter-final fixtures will be played on Wednesday, with Aston Villa taking on Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona facing Borussia Dortmund.
