Security has been heightened around Blantyre Street and adjoining areas in Wuse 2, Abuja, as dignitaries arrive for the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas are among top officials expected at the event scheduled for 11 a.m.

Vehicular and pedestrian movement in the area has been heavily restricted, with only a select number of journalists granted access to cover the opening session.

Among those already in attendance are Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), the Forum of State Chairmen, former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.
