Former Sokoto State Governor and serving Senator, Aminu Tambuwal (Mutawallen Sokoto), has reaffirmed the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) commitment to reclaiming its mandate from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Monday at the launch of a Ramadan relief initiative in Sokoto State, Tambuwal emphasized the party’s dedication to alleviating economic hardship, particularly during the holy month. The initiative, he noted, will provide food assistance to over 30,000 households across the state, complementing ongoing support from PDP lawmakers at both state and federal levels.
“Our lawmakers have distributed thousands of bags of rice and other essential grains to youth and women-led organizations, ensuring that fasting Muslims have access to food during this sacred period,” Tambuwal stated.
He further urged party members to remain united, asserting that the PDP’s mandate was “forcefully stolen” in the last election but will be restored.
“By the grace of Allah, what was taken from us will be returned in 2027,” he declared.
Also speaking at the event, Sokoto State PDP Chairman, Bello Goronyo, praised party members for their resilience and support, urging them to rally behind the party’s mission to reclaim leadership. He attributed Nigeria’s current economic challenges to APC’s governance, calling on citizens to vote for change in the next election.
As the 2027 elections approach, the PDP’s leadership in Sokoto State is positioning itself for a political comeback, with strategic mobilization efforts already underway.
