Former Sokoto State Governor and serving Senator for Sokoto South, Aminu Tambuwal, has debunked claims that the emerging African Democratic Congress (ADC)-led coalition is a northern political agenda.
Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, on Friday, Tambuwal stressed that the opposition front is a broad-based national coalition cutting across all regions of the country.
“Is Peter Obi from Northern Nigeria? Is Aregbesola not from Osun State? What are you telling me? Are they not all part of the coalition?” he asked.
Tambuwal insisted that the coalition is committed to democratic change through constitutional means, emphasizing that Nigerians deserve better governance.
He further accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of failing to meet public expectations, dismissing the notion that the president’s re-election in 2027 is inevitable.
“It is not cast in stone that he may not lose in 2027. Every effort being made to make it look as if he is invincible — that Bola Tinubu cannot be defeated — is rubbish,” the lawmaker declared.
