The Legal Adviser to the Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party, Kehinde Edun, has revealed that Mr. Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, is now back in contact with the embattled national chairman.
Edun made this known during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television, on Wednesday.
When asked if Obi had resumed communication with Abure, Edun responded, “I believe so. He hasn’t made any categorical statement about leaving the party. Yes, he’s with us, and I believe he’s speaking with Abure. That’s what I know and believe.”
The Labour Party has been grappling with a prolonged leadership crisis, with Julius Abure at the center of the controversy. Despite the challenges, Edun’s statement suggests efforts may be underway to mend relationships within the party.
The situation has sparked significant interest among party members and the wider public, as Obi’s association with the Labour Party remains a key focal point in the political landscape.
