The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has read the riot act to members engaging in anti-party activities, especially those openly endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, on Friday, the NWC expressed deep concern over the persistent public endorsements and pro-All Progressives Congress (APC) comments from some prominent PDP figures.
According to the NWC, such conduct breaches Section 10 (6) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), which expressly forbids members from associating with rival political parties or groups in ways that undermine the PDP or its elected governments.
The committee warned that these actions have been fueling division, causing disaffection, and prompting an exodus of members — developments that could jeopardize the party’s electoral fortunes if not addressed.
Citing Section 59 (1) of the PDP Constitution, the NWC revealed it has already reprimanded those involved and cautioned them to stop or risk tougher disciplinary measures.
“All members must remain loyal, focused, and committed to the party’s unity and electoral success, especially as we prepare for our National Convention on November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State,” the statement added.
