Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has firmly stated that Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his predecessor, Ifeanyi Okowa, will not be allowed to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Ika South, Omo-Agege emphasized that both leaders should remain in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rebuild their party. However, he disclosed that the APC is open to welcoming Senator Ned Nwoko, members of the House of Representatives, state lawmakers, and other PDP leaders.
“Soon, we will have three senators, and I am aware that the three PDP House of Representatives members are joining APC,” Omo-Agege said.
He further alleged that Governor Oborevwori’s administration has been stifling lawmakers in the Delta State House of Assembly, making it difficult for them to speak freely without the risk of suspension. According to him, this has led several House of Assembly members to consider defecting to the APC.
“We welcome everyone except Oborevwori and Okowa. They should remain in PDP and rebuild their party,” he reiterated.
Omo-Agege urged APC members to remain united and committed to strengthening the party in Delta State.
