ABUJA — The Obidient Movement has officially endorsed Dr. George Moghalu as the Labour Party’s (LP) flagbearer in the upcoming Anambra State governorship election slated for November 8, 2025.
The endorsement was announced in a statement released on Tuesday by the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, who described Moghalu as “a relentless warrior for the voiceless masses who have long suffered under decades of plunder, nepotism, and poor leadership.”
Tanko further revealed that the former LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is fully backing Moghalu’s candidacy ahead of the polls.
Declaring unwavering support, Tanko said:
“We declare, without reservation or equivocation, our absolute and thunderous endorsement of Dr. George Moghalu as the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for Anambra State in the November 8, 2025, election.”
He stressed that the movement was ready to mobilize Anambra’s 2.8 million registered voters across 5,894 polling units in 323 wards and 21 local government areas to ensure a decisive Labour Party victory.
“In our meetings, I witnessed firsthand the fire in his soul — a fierce, unapologetic commitment to empathy, accountability, and people-centered governance that echoes the very essence of what Anambra deserves and Nigeria demands,” Tanko added.
The statement concluded with a rallying call to LP supporters and Obidients:
“As epitomised and pronounced by HE Peter Obi, we will march with Dr. George Moghalu as one unbreakable army. To those who oppose progress, know that the tide of history is turning, and Moghalu will lead us to victory, not with whispers, but with the roar of a new dawn.
