The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has declared its intention to become Nigeria’s ruling party in 2027, with its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, positioned as the party’s presidential candidate.
Speaking at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday, NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Ajuki Ahmad, expressed confidence in the party’s future despite ongoing internal conflicts.
“Our party is experiencing minor, manageable challenges,” Ahmad stated. “Unlike other parties facing existential crises, the issues we face are negligible. Those who chose to break away lack the moral, political, and legal grounds to harm us.”
Ahmad dismissed claims of a parallel leadership emerging in Apapa, Lagos, labeling the documents backing the faction as baseless. “The questionable paper they wave around is nothing more than that—a piece of paper. We will soon tear it apart,” he declared.
He urged party leaders at all levels to unite and confront the challenges ahead, emphasizing the NNPP’s mission to reshape Nigeria.
“Becoming the ruling party in 2027 will be a tough journey, but no worthy path is ever easy,” Ahmad said. “We represent the hopes of Nigeria’s youth and are committed to building a nation we can all be proud of.”
