Kwankwaso Vows to Undermine APC Votes in Kano Ahead of 2027 Elections

Former Kano State Governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has pledged to significantly diminish the electoral influence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State during the 2027 general elections.

Kwankwaso made this bold declaration on Wednesday while addressing former councillors and senior special advisers who served under his administration, as well as stakeholders from Tsanyawa Local Government Area. The meeting took place at his residence in Kano and focused on strategies to strengthen the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in future elections.

Reflecting on the 2023 general elections, Kwankwaso commended his team for their hard work, which he said was instrumental in relegating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to a marginal position in Kano. The PDP, he noted, managed to secure only 15,000 votes in the state.

“This achievement was no small feat, especially considering that the NNPP was a relatively new political platform and began its campaign efforts later than other parties,” Kwankwaso stated.

He expressed confidence in his party’s ability to achieve even greater success in the upcoming elections, declaring, “Now, it’s our turn to diminish APC’s influence. We will work tirelessly to ensure their votes are reduced to less than 15,000 in Kano come 2027.”

The former governor emphasised the importance of grassroots mobilisation and unwavering dedication among party members. He urged his supporters to remain focused on building the NNPP into a dominant political force, not only in Kano but across Nigeria.

Kwankwaso’s remarks underline his commitment to positioning the NNPP as a formidable alternative to the APC and PDP in the Nigerian political landscape. His call to action serves as a rallying cry for his supporters as they prepare for the 2027 electoral contest.
