A former acting state chairman of the Labour Party in Abia State, Kelechi Madugba, has strongly refuted allegations that he financially supports the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), describing the claims as false and politically motivated.
In a statement released to South East Punch in Umuahia, Madugba categorically denied any involvement with the group. He emphasized that he is neither a sponsor nor a sympathizer of IPOB, and that he has never had any interactions with members of the group.
Madugba, who has held various significant positions, including as a candidate for the House of Representatives under multiple political parties, expressed disappointment over what he termed baseless accusations orchestrated by his political adversaries.
“I am a respected businessman and a committed political figure, dedicated to the development and unity of my community and Nigeria,” Madugba asserted, highlighting his long-standing commitment to national unity.
He further published his account details to offer transparency and to allow for verification of any alleged transactions, in a bid to clear his name from the allegations.
