The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, Abubakar Muhammad Kana, has firmly dismissed circulating rumours on social media suggesting that Governor Nasir Idris is planning to leave the party.
Speaking at a key meeting with APC stakeholders, including Governor Idris, his deputy, former Governor Sa’idu Dakingari, and the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Kana reassured party members that the APC’s hold on Kebbi State remains strong and unwavering.
“Kebbi State is progressing under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris, and we are fully satisfied with his performance at the state level as well as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership at the federal level,” Kana remarked. He further emphasized the party’s commitment to securing a second term for both the governor and the president to continue the successful work already underway.
Governor Idris, in his response, attributed the rumours of defection to misinformation and deliberate falsehoods by individuals with ulterior motives. He reaffirmed his trust in God and his belief in the positive trajectory of his administration.
“Kebbi is an APC state, and it will continue to thrive. We stand firmly behind President Tinubu and his administration, both now and in the next term, as we work together to deliver the dividends of democracy to our people,” the governor assured.
This statement further solidifies the unity within the APC in Kebbi and counters unfounded claims that have recently circulated on social media.
