Lagos politician and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has asserted that he does not require President Bola Tinubu’s endorsement to achieve his ambition of becoming Lagos State governor.
Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme, Jandor reiterated his determination to contest in the 2027 gubernatorial election, stating that only God can determine the outcome of his political journey.
Jandor, who began his political career within the All Progressives Congress (APC) before breaking away with his Lagos4Lagos Movement in 2022, later joined the PDP and emerged as the party’s candidate for the 2023 governorship race. However, he lost to incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC.
In a recent move, Jandor dumped the PDP, accusing certain party leaders of sabotaging his candidacy. He criticized the national leadership for failing to sanction individuals involved in anti-party activities and instead rewarding them with key positions.
“We waited patiently for two years to see if the party would uphold its constitution. Instead of enforcing disciplinary measures, the same individual was appointed Vice Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee,” he lamented.
While Jandor remains undecided on his next political platform, he confirmed that he is open to joining any party that aligns with his vision for Lagos. He also revealed that he has not met with President Tinubu since leaving the APC in 2022.
With his eyes set on the 2027 elections, Jandor maintains that his political journey is firmly in motion, regardless of external influences.
