Lafia, Nasarawa State – Governor Abdullahi Sule has dismissed speculations that he has an anointed candidate for the 2027 governorship election, describing such claims as baseless and misleading.

Speaking through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Mr. Peter Ahemba, during a media briefing at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) secretariat in Lafia, the governor reaffirmed that the choice of his successor lies solely with the people of Nasarawa State.

Governor Sule cautioned political appointees against fueling such rumors, warning that any official engaging in such speculation would be deemed insubordinate. He urged aspirants within his administration to remain focused on governance, stating that the appropriate time for political declarations would come.

Reaffirming his commitment to delivering democratic dividends in his remaining two years in office, the governor highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Lafia Flyover and Underpass, the Akwanga project, and the proposed Keffi Flyover.

He called on residents to continue supporting his administration as it works toward improving their standard of living.
