The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has urged party members in Kano State to unite in a concerted effort to reclaim political power from the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Speaking during the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum dinner, held in honor of Rt. Hon. Kabiru Rurum, Rt. Hon. Hamisu Chidari, and Rt. Hon. Yusuf Atta, among others, Ganduje emphasized the importance of unity within the party. Represented by the Kano State APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, Ganduje stressed that internal solidarity is crucial to achieving electoral success.
“Unity is the only way out for us; it’s the only avenue available for us to have what we want,” Ganduje stated, adding that divine intervention was already paving the way as the current administration mismanages the state’s affairs.
In a pointed remark, he dismissed the NNPP leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso’s claims of popularity. “I can swear to God that if not for our internal issues, he wouldn’t have won any election in the state,” he said, calling on APC members to prepare for the challenging task of reclaiming Kano.
The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, also addressed the gathering, echoing Ganduje’s sentiments. Ata emphasized the need for unity within the APC, asserting that the party stands a strong chance of regaining control of Kano if members resolve their internal differences. “Let’s just pray and forge ahead in unity. We must work towards reclaiming Kano because the state is not in good hands under the current leadership,” Ata said.
Abdul’azeez Gafasa, Chairman of the APC House of Assembly Forum, congratulated the honorees for their contributions and assured members that the forum would continue to foster unity and uplift its members.
The event also celebrated APC leaders and members who have secured federal appointments, underscoring their accomplishments as a testament to the party’s resilience and collective strength. Amidst calls for solidarity, the evening reinforced the party’s commitment to reclaiming dominance in Kano State.
