Faduri Joseph Welcomes Abure’s Sack

Faduri O. Joseph, a former presidential aspirant under the Labour Party (LP) and leader of the Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, has welcomed the removal of Barrister Julius Abure as the party’s national chairman, calling it a relief for both the party and Nigerians.

In a recent statement, Joseph expressed his belief that under Abure’s leadership, LP missed its chance to secure victory in the 2023 general elections, despite the party’s strong potential. He noted that Nigerians had placed their trust in LP, hoping it would steer the nation away from the current crisis, but the party’s leadership faltered, turning it into “a laughing stock.”

Joseph recalled the revival of the Labour Party in 2022 with the goal of positioning it to win the 2023 elections and implement meaningful change. However, he lamented that, instead of delivering a positive transformation, the party became engulfed in internal chaos.

He further criticized the party’s deterioration, particularly after the presidential primaries in Asaba, which he claims fractured the party’s unity and derailed its mission. Despite attempts to realign the party, Joseph said many influential leaders were suspended, and “illegalities” ran rampant.

He emphasized that the law has now caught up with the party’s past actions and called for a collective effort to rebuild the Labour Party ahead of the 2027 elections. Joseph urged members to set aside differences and work together to achieve a “New Nigeria,” one free from tribalism, favoritism, and incompetence.

Reflecting on the current state of the nation, Joseph pointed out the country’s economic decline, with the naira’s value plummeting and widespread youth disenchantment. He argued that Nigeria, a nation with immense potential, is failing to harness the power of its young workforce.

“We must unite as a party to restore hope to the Nigerian people,” Joseph concluded. “The country has everything but lacks everything. Together, we can make a change and deliver a brighter future for our nation.”
