A prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart in Sokoto State and former Nigerian Ambassador to Jordan, Faruk Malami Yabo, has donated N10 million to party leaders and members to ease economic hardship and support their Ramadan observance.

The financial assistance was presented through Alhaji Kabiru Hali, former Chairman of the Sokoto Traders Association, who distributed the funds on Yabo’s behalf. This donation follows an earlier N20 million welfare package provided by the former envoy.

Yabo urged party members to remain steadfast and united in strengthening the PDP ahead of the 2027 elections.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the state PDP Chairman, Bello Aliyu Goronyo, the party’s Treasurer, Yahaya Dalhatu, expressed gratitude for Yabo’s commitment to the party’s welfare and development. He reaffirmed the PDP’s resilience and unity in Sokoto State.

Yabo, who previously served as the deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 elections, defected to the PDP alongside other political figures ahead of the 2023 polls.
