Court Gags Parties in Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Suit Against Akpabio

The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a gag order, restraining all parties involved in the ongoing legal battle between suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio from speaking to the press about the case.

Justice Binta Fatima Nyako gave the directive on Friday after Akpabio’s counsel, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), raised concerns that the plaintiff had been making rounds on television, discussing matters related to the ongoing litigation.

In her brief ruling, Justice Nyako ordered all parties and their legal representatives to refrain from granting media interviews or discussing the case publicly. The judge also barred any form of livestreaming or social media broadcast of the court proceedings.

Further details are expected shortly.
