Bwala Urges El-Rufai to Resolve APC Grievances, Warns Against Opposition Influence

The Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has advised former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, to reconsider his stance and address his grievances within the All Progressives Congress (APC) rather than being swayed by opposition interests.

Bwala, responding to El-Rufai’s recent post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, expressed concern over what he described as a “vengeance-driven” approach taken by the former governor. He warned that such a stance could make El-Rufai a strategic asset for the opposition.

“The opposition sees that singular element of vengeance as a veritable tool for your recruitment,” Bwala remarked. He urged El-Rufai to return to the party and engage in constructive resolution, emphasizing that the APC remains the most structured and organized political party in the country.

Bwala also refuted El-Rufai’s characterization of him as a “latter-day Asiwaju supporter,” clarifying his longstanding political alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“With respect, I am not a latter-day Asiwaju supporter. We both played our roles in his emergence as the party’s candidate ahead of the 2023 elections. Before then, whilst you were from the CPC extraction of the APC, I was from the ACN,” he stated.

Acknowledging El-Rufai’s contributions to Nigerian politics, Bwala reiterated his admiration for the former governor’s intellect and influence. However, he maintained that El-Rufai’s current approach was counterproductive and called for reconciliation within the party.

“I still think you don’t need all these melodramatic activities or a vengeance mission. Come back and resolve whatever you think are your grievances like the dignified man that you are,” Bwala urged.

Reaffirming APC’s dominance in Nigeria’s political landscape, Bwala concluded, “Our party, APC, as of today remains the only organized party with identifiable structures across the country. So if you are looking for any symbol of democracy, it is still in your party. Please, senior, come home; you have toiled all night.”
