Bwala Accuses El-Rufai of Plotting to Unseat Tinubu’s Government

The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Policy Communications, Daniel Bwala, has accused former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, of attempting to undermine the current administration.

Bwala made this assertion in response to El-Rufai’s recent criticism of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party, which the former governor accused of deviating from its founding principles and enabling poor governance.

In his remarks, El-Rufai described the state of governance and opposition in Nigeria as a “national emergency,” further highlighting his dissatisfaction with the country’s current leadership.

Reacting to these statements, Bwala took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, questioning whether El-Rufai would have expressed similar sentiments if he were still part of the government.

“My senior brother, if you were to be in the government and cabinet, would you have held and expressed the same position?” Bwala wrote. “History is replete with examples. It is a government you participated in its formation that you now want to unseat.”

The exchange underscores rising tensions within the APC as internal divisions continue to surface. El-Rufai, a key figure in the formation of the Tinubu-led administration, has been vocal about his discontent with the party’s trajectory, fueling speculation about deeper rifts within its leadership.

Both Bwala and El-Rufai have yet to issue further statements clarifying their positions.
