The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has warmly welcomed the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, into its fold, assuring him of maximum support and integration within the party’s structure.
The APC made the announcement on Friday via its official handle on X (formerly Twitter), expressing delight over Governor Eno’s decision to join the party.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), led by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the APC described the governor’s defection as a “thoughtful decision” that would advance the progress and development of Akwa Ibom State.
“We are confident that his thoughtful decision will inure to the greater progress of Akwa Ibom State and its people,” the statement read.
The party further pledged its “fullest cooperation and accommodation” for the governor as he settles into the APC family, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in driving the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Governor Eno’s move is expected to reshape the political landscape of Akwa Ibom and bolster the APC’s influence in the South-South region.
