The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) successfully resolved the internal disputes within its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter during a reconciliation meeting held on Monday in Abuja. The National Vice Chairman (North) of the party, Muazu Rijau, led the inauguration of the newly appointed State Working Committee (SWC), directing them to commence their duties immediately.
Following the reconciliation, Yakubu Mohamed, the Zonal Secretary of APC North Central, addressed the media, stating that the internal issues that had previously plagued the party’s FCT chapter had now been resolved. Mohamed emphasized that the APC in the FCT is now united, with a legitimate and authentic State Executive Committee in place, along with verified local government and ward executive lists.
“The party is united, and the new leadership will now work diligently to ensure the success of the APC in the Federal Capital Territory,” Mohamed affirmed. He further assured that the APC would deliver a strong performance in the upcoming 2026 FCT Council elections, with plans to secure victory in all six area councils and 62 wards within the FCT.
Mohamed also expressed confidence that the unity achieved within the FCT chapter would extend down to the grassroots, pledging that by the 2027 general elections, the APC would deliver the FCT to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“We are united, and with God’s grace, we will ensure the success of the APC in the FCT,” he concluded.
