The Progressive Governors’ Forum has thrown its full weight behind President Bola Tinubu, pledging to secure his re-election bid in 2027.
This declaration was made by the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, during the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit in Abuja.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Uzodimma urged his fellow APC governors to take firm control of the political landscape in their respective states, ensuring that the party secures victory in all upcoming elections.
“The governors produced by the APC are hereby charged to take responsibility for marketing all federal government policies, occupy all political spaces in their domains, and win all elections in their states come 2027,” Uzodimma said.
He also acknowledged the earlier endorsement of President Tinubu by APC governors from the North, describing it as a strong indication of unity and support within the party.
“We acknowledge the resolution of these governors that the President should be adopted as our flagbearer for the 2027 presidential election. It is, therefore, my honour to move that this August assembly adopt and affirm the position of the Progressive Governors that Mr. President carries our flag in 2027,” he declared.
Uzodimma’s remarks underscore a renewed commitment among APC leaders to consolidate their grip on power and ensure a successful second term for President Tinubu.
