APC Criticizes Delta State Governor Oborevwori’s Administration Over Lack of Development

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has expressed dissatisfaction with the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, accusing it of failing to deliver meaningful and impactful initiatives under the M.O.R.E. Agenda mantra. The party claimed the agenda has yet to resonate with the everyday needs of the people and is becoming increasingly ineffective.

In a statement released on Monday by the APC’s Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the party criticized the administration’s response to the state’s infrastructural challenges and job creation needs. The statement specifically condemned recent remarks made by the Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, on criticisms of the government’s performance.

According to Onojeghuo, the government has resorted to “deceptive tactics,” relying on vague promises of future projects rather than addressing pressing issues. He asserted that apart from the ongoing Effurun flyover project, the administration has failed to initiate or complete other significant projects that would benefit Deltans.

“Governance is about addressing the day-to-day realities that affect the lives of citizens,” the statement read. “Governor Oborevwori’s administration has yet to demonstrate any clear vision or actionable plan to tackle the myriad of issues affecting our state and improve the quality of life for Deltans.”

The APC also criticized Aniagwu’s defense of the administration, describing his reference to “legacy projects” as an attempt to deflect attention from the state’s developmental challenges. “This is a laughable and futile effort to distract the public from the urgent issues affecting Delta State,” the party noted.

Highlighting the state’s struggles with inadequate infrastructure and limited economic opportunities, particularly for the youth, the APC called on the administration to adopt a more responsive and transparent approach to governance. It urged Aniagwu to engage constructively with critics and address concerns with actionable plans rather than “empty assurances.”

“Given the huge financial resources at the government’s disposal, the people of Delta State deserve a government that actively works to improve their lives,” the statement added.

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to holding the government accountable and advocating for policies that promote progress and development in the state. The party called on Governor Oborevwori to prioritize the needs of Deltans and deliver tangible results rather than making unfulfilled promises.
