Another Abia Lawmaker Dumps PDP for Labour Party

0

A member of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Lucky Nweke Johnson, representing Isuikwuato Constituency, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the Labour Party (LP).

In a letter addressed to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, Johnson attributed his decision to the internal crises rocking the PDP at both the national and state levels. He further explained that his move to the Labour Party was inspired by the “sterling performance” of Governor Alex Otti.

The lawmaker emphasized that his defection followed extensive consultations with his constituents, adding that he should henceforth be recognized as a member of the Labour Party in the state assembly.

This latest defection follows a similar move in February by Hon. Rowland Dennis, the representative of Isiala Ngwa South Constituency, who also left the PDP for the LP. The Abia State chapter of the PDP had strongly condemned Dennis’ defection at the time.
