Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the early payment of December salaries to all civil servants on the state government’s payroll.
The announcement, made on Saturday by the governor’s spokesperson, Dauda Illiya, confirmed that the approval was granted on Friday, December 13, 2024. The initiative aims to enable residents to adequately prepare for the festive season, fostering inclusivity and socio-cultural unity among the diverse people of Borno.
“Governor Zulum directed, as usual, that no affected Christians, Muslims, or others should feel excluded during and after the yuletide,” the statement read. “This aligns with his dedication to fostering inclusivity and enabling all residents to prepare for and celebrate the yuletide season without financial hindrance.”
The statement highlighted the governor’s commitment to ensuring all citizens feel a sense of belonging during this period of cultural and religious significance. It also noted that salaries and pensions for December have already started reflecting in beneficiaries’ accounts.
Governor Zulum called on recipients to continue praying for peace in Borno State and the nation, emphasizing the positive impact of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on the lives of citizens.
This early disbursement underscores the governor’s resolve to prioritize the welfare of Borno’s civil servants while strengthening the bonds of unity and shared celebration.
