Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, has called on young Nigerians to actively embrace artificial intelligence (AI) and take full advantage of the digital economy.

Speaking on Youth Forum, a live interactive programme aired Thursday on Channels Television to mark President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second year in office, the minister encouraged Nigerian youths to rise above skepticism and self-doubt, stressing that the government is creating platforms for innovation and growth.

“Do not listen to naysayers. Do not participate in doubting whether this is a government that is here to serve you,” Tijani said.

“You live in a time of artificial intelligence. You don’t even need help — go into your ChatGPT or any generative AI of your choice,” he added, urging youths to leverage modern tools to access opportunities and vital information.

Tijani emphasized that President Tinubu’s administration is committed to building a performance-driven Nigeria where every citizen, regardless of tribe or religion, has access to inclusive government programmes.

“Your generation belongs to the AI era — leverage it,” he stated. “Research and discover what government programmes are available. The links and opportunities are out there.”

Highlighting ongoing infrastructure development, the minister disclosed that broadband internet access is now being extended directly into university hostels, part of the administration’s broader plan to digitize Nigeria’s learning environments and boost innovation hubs.

“We are fortunate to have a president who is focused on transforming Nigeria from a country of promises and potentials into one of performance,” Tijani said.

He concluded by affirming that the current administration is laying a strong foundation to secure the future for Nigeria’s youth, urging them to engage actively and be part of the nation’s digital revolution.
