UK Government Confirms Grenfell Tower Demolition

0

Nearly eight years after the tragic Grenfell Tower fire that claimed 72 lives, the UK government has confirmed plans to demolish the high-rise.

Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner informed campaigners of the decision earlier this week, a move that has been met with strong opposition from bereaved families and survivors.

According to government sources cited by Sky News, the demolition is expected to take approximately two years and will be carried out “sensitively.”

However, campaign group Grenfell United, which represents survivors and victims’ families, has accused Rayner of disregarding the voices of those directly impacted by the 2017 disaster.
