The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has firmly rejected any attempts to displace Palestinians following a proposal by former U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting that the United States take control of the Gaza Strip.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its “categorical rejection of any infringement on the Palestinians’ inalienable rights and any attempts at displacement.”
Trump’s remarks, made during a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, outlined a plan for the U.S. to “take over Gaza, level it, and rebuild the area.” The proposal has drawn widespread criticism from the international community, including key U.S. allies such as the United Kingdom and France.
The UAE reiterated its commitment to a diplomatic resolution, emphasizing that “regional stability can only be attained through a two-state solution.” The statement stressed the urgency of establishing a viable political framework to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and ensure the creation of an independent Palestinian state.
Trump’s proposal comes amid heightened tensions in the region, raising concerns about its potential impact on ongoing efforts toward peace and stability.
