Netanyahu Vows to ‘Finish the Job’ Against Iran with Trump’s Backing

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to “finish the job” against Iran, with support from former US President Donald Trump, as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.

Speaking in Jerusalem alongside US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Netanyahu lauded Israel’s efforts against Iran’s “terror axis” over the past 16 months and expressed confidence in the joint strategy with the United States.

“Under the strong leadership of President Trump, I have no doubt that we can and will finish the job,” Netanyahu declared.

Secretary Rubio, on his first official visit to the region, reaffirmed the US’s unwavering stance against Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

“It’s important to constantly point out that whether we talk about Hamas, Hezbollah, violence in the West Bank, destabilization in Syria, or militias in Iraq, there is one common thread – Iran. And that must be addressed,” Rubio stated.

US intelligence agencies have recently warned both the Biden and Trump administrations of Israel’s potential plans to strike key Iranian nuclear sites this year. According to sources familiar with the reports, Israel’s military posture directly conflicts with Trump’s stated desire to broker a peace deal with Tehran.

The broader Israeli objective, intelligence suggests, is to bring about regime change in Iran. Netanyahu emphasized his alignment with Trump’s vision for Gaza’s future, issuing a stark warning:

“If all hostages are not released, we will open the gates of hell.”

The comments come amid controversy surrounding Trump’s recent proposal to place Gaza under US administration and relocate Palestinians permanently – a plan that sparked widespread international condemnation.

Coinciding with Rubio’s visit, the US shipped a consignment of heavy bombs to Israel, reversing a policy set by the Biden administration. The delivery included 1,800 MK bombs, which had previously been withheld due to concerns over their potential use in densely populated civilian areas in Gaza.

Salama Maroof, head of Gaza’s Government Media Office, condemned the shipment, accusing the US of prioritizing military support over humanitarian aid.

“Instead of sending food, medicine, water, or shelter to Gaza’s victims, the United States – a self-proclaimed champion of democracy and human rights – is supplying the occupation army with heavy bombs,” Maroof said.

As Israel intensifies its rhetoric against Iran and receives renewed support from Trump-era allies, analysts warn of a potential escalation in the already volatile Middle East. The recent developments underscore the complex interplay of domestic and international politics, as both Israeli and American leaders navigate shifting alliances and growing public scrutiny over the conflict in Gaza.
