Hamas Condemns Trump’s Gaza Remarks as ‘Racist,’ Rejects US Control Proposal

0

The Palestinian group Hamas has denounced recent comments by former U.S. President Donald Trump, labeling them “racist” after he suggested that the United States should take control of Gaza and relocate its two million residents to Jordan and Egypt.

In a statement posted on its Telegram channel, Hamas condemned the remarks, saying they amount to “a call for ethnic cleansing” and an attempt to “liquidate the Palestinian cause.”

Hamas also reiterated its commitment to the ongoing ceasefire agreement, while accusing Israel of violating its terms. “The occupation is the party that has not complied with its commitments and is therefore responsible for any complications or delays,” the statement added.

Trump’s comments came as he warned that “all hell is going to break out” if Hamas fails to release all hostages held in Gaza by Saturday afternoon. Speaking from the Oval Office, he issued the warning after signing a series of executive orders.

Meanwhile, Hamas had earlier threatened to delay the next scheduled hostage release, accusing Israel of breaching the ceasefire agreement.
