Consultations with Atiku, Obi, Tinubu, OBJ are in Nigeria’s interest – Wike
Prince Emma Okotie-Eboh, son of Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, and former Chairman of the Chief Great Ogboru Campaign Council under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has described the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as one of the finest and most courageous politicians in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic.

Speaking in Warri, Delta State, Okotie-Eboh praised Wike’s forthrightness and commitment to good governance, describing him as a rare breed in today’s political climate.

“Wike is a politician with integrity — focused and steadfast among a class of politicians who are often driven by shifting, opportunistic alliances,” he said. “He has remained a household name due to his unwavering stance on truth and development.”

He noted that Wike’s tenure as governor of Rivers State stood out for its landmark infrastructural projects, especially through the engagement of Julius Berger to execute large-scale road projects in even the most difficult riverine terrains.

“This demonstrates political will and courage rarely seen today. While others squander state funds or divert them for personal gain, Wike used the resources of Rivers State to better the lives of his people,” Okotie-Eboh stated.

He also commended Wike’s principled position during the 2023 presidential election, highlighting his insistence on the zoning of the presidency to the South, as originally agreed upon within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“Despite pressure, Wike stood by his conviction. He supported PDP at the state level but refused to backtrack on his demand for fairness and equity at the national level. That’s real political guts,” he said.

Okotie-Eboh also lauded Wike’s bold reforms as FCT Minister, particularly his insistence on restoring the Abuja master plan through the demolition of illegal structures, regardless of whose interests were affected.

“Wike’s impact on the aesthetics and structural order of Abuja is already evident. He is aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and has brought a new sense of order to the FCT,” he added.

He concluded by praising Wike’s consistency, loyalty, and refusal to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), even while working in a federal government led by the party.

“Wike believes that agreement is agreement. He supported an Ijaw candidate to become governor in Rivers without selfish motives. That kind of integrity is a rare commodity in today’s politics,” he said.
