The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Thursday held a closed-door meeting with two All Progressives Congress (APC) governors in Abuja, further fueling speculations about deepening political alignments ahead of 2027.
Wike met with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru in the early hours of the day at his Abuja office.
The visit was disclosed by the Minister’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, who posted photos and a brief caption on Facebook.
“Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and his Ebonyi State counterpart, Francis Nwifuru, during their visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja a few minutes ago,” Olayinka wrote.
The meeting comes just weeks after Wike hosted factional National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, at his Abuja residence.
Following his visit, Abure described the meeting as private, asserting that he reserves the right to engage with any public office holder in the country.
The recent flurry of high-profile visits to the FCT Minister has continued to stir political interest, with observers noting Wike’s increasing relevance in both ruling and opposition circles.
