Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has issued a bold rebuttal to his political critics and detractors within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that no one has the authority or credibility to expel him from the party.
Speaking during a media parley in Abuja, Wike firmly dismissed calls for his expulsion from the PDP, insisting that his long-standing contributions to the party place him above reproach.
“I am still in PDP. I worked hard for the party. I have not seen anybody who will have the guts to tell me, ‘Wike, you are not a member of the party.’ Who is that? What is his contribution to the party that is more than mine?” he challenged.
Wike, a former governor of Rivers State and a key power broker in Nigerian politics, has remained a controversial figure within the PDP due to his outspoken stance and perceived alignment with rival political interests since the 2023 general elections.
His comments on Monday signal continued defiance amid growing internal tensions within the PDP, as some factions call for disciplinary action against him.
