The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has congratulated Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, following the tribunal judgment on Wednesday that upheld his victory in the September governorship election.
In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed confidence in Governor Okpebholo’s ability to fulfill his campaign promises. He also advised the governor to remain focused and avoid being distracted by those seeking to seize power through the back door.
Describing the judgment as a reaffirmation of the people’s mandate, Wike stated that the victory belonged to the citizens of Edo State who entrusted Okpebholo with leadership. He urged the governor to demonstrate even greater commitment to serving the people and delivering on his electoral promises.
“I believe in him, and with the way he has started, I am confident that his administration will have a positive impact on Edo State and its people,” Wike stated.
The tribunal judgment has been widely celebrated by Okpebholo’s supporters, who see it as a validation of the governor’s legitimacy and the people’s choice.
