US-Based Activist Accuses Senator Natasha of Plotting Smear Campaign Against Akpabio

United States-based activist and media personality, Dr. Sandra Duru, popularly known as Professor Mgbeke, has come forward with what she describes as “damning evidence” against suspended Nigerian Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

In a Facebook Live broadcast on Thursday night, Dr. Duru publicly displayed phone call logs and WhatsApp messages, alleging that Senator Natasha attempted to co-opt her into a plot to falsely accuse Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment and organ harvesting.

The explosive one-hour, eight-minute broadcast comes amid a swirl of controversy surrounding Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s recent claims against Akpabio. Dr. Duru, however, insists the allegations are entirely fabricated and politically motivated.

“There is no sexual harassment of any kind. There is no evidence of organ harvesting,” Duru stated firmly, accusing the senator of attempting to manipulate public sentiment for personal and political gain.

According to Duru, Senator Natasha allegedly offered her ₦200 million to publicly link Akpabio to the 2021 death of a young woman named Iniobong Umoren, despite autopsy reports ruling out organ harvesting. She claims this offer followed the failure of Natasha’s initial sexual harassment allegations to gain momentum.

“She is a pathological liar,” Duru said during the broadcast. “She has disgraced us Nigerians. She even said Nigerians were G and H—‘Gullible and Hungry.’”

Dr. Duru revealed that she had submitted the alleged evidence to authorities in the U.S. and other jurisdictions for forensic investigation. She also accused Senator Natasha of previously denying any communication with her, a claim she sought to refute by sharing what she claims are call logs and WhatsApp messages as proof of their interactions.

“She must explain what she knows about the murder,” Duru said, referencing the Umoren case and urging Nigerian and international law enforcement to probe deeper.

In a scathing critique, Dr. Duru described the senator as “unteachable” and “morally bankrupt,” alleging that Natasha once referred to former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, as a “useful idiot.”

According to Duru, Natasha later admitted that her battle was not truly against Akpabio but was part of a broader effort to undermine the current administration. “She said the real target is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and that they don’t want a Yoruba-led government to extend beyond four years,” Duru alleged.

She further claimed that Senator Natasha had been promised a top political position—either the governorship of Kogi State or the petroleum ministry—if she succeeded in removing Akpabio from his role as Senate President.

Calling on the Nigerian Police Force, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and international security agencies to intervene, Dr. Duru insisted that the allegations must be investigated thoroughly.

“She wants to force the Senate President to step down so they can pave the way to remove what they call a Yoruba government. The Nigerian Police should take this matter seriously,” she concluded.

As the controversy deepens, political watchers are closely monitoring the fallout from these grave accusations.
