Moscow and Washington Reach Agreements on Black Sea Ceasefire, Energy Target Moratorium
The Kremlin has expressed satisfaction with ongoing diplomatic engagements with Washington following separate agreements reached between the United States, Ukraine, and Russia.
Speaking on Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the discussions as “pragmatic and constructive,” highlighting their effectiveness in producing tangible results.
The agreements, announced on Tuesday, include a ceasefire in the Black Sea and a temporary halt to strikes on energy infrastructure. As part of the deal, the U.S. has committed to advocating for the easing of certain sanctions against Moscow.
Peskov confirmed that intensive communications between Russia and the U.S. facilitated a swift consensus on the list of Russian and Ukrainian energy facilities covered under the moratorium.
The development marks a significant step in diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions while maintaining critical infrastructure stability.
