Two Dead as Fire Engulfs GABSTAB Petrol Station in Ibadan

Ibadan, Nigeria – A tragic fire outbreak at the GABSTAB Mega Petrol Station in Orita Challenge, Ibadan, claimed two lives in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, the victims—a petrol tanker driver and his motor boy—were burnt to death in the incident.

“We received information about the fire at 5:15 a.m. and immediately deployed our personnel to the scene,” Akinyinka stated.

He confirmed that the fire has been brought under control, adding that further details on the cause of the inferno would be provided in due course.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and adhere to safety measures at fuel stations to prevent similar tragedies.
