Former U.S. President Donald Trump has revealed that he held a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which they discussed key international issues including trade and Iran.
Trump disclosed the development via his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, stating that the conversation was productive and that both leaders were aligned on all matters discussed.
“I’ve just spoken to the Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, relative to numerous subjects, including trade, Iran, etc. The call went very well, we are on the same side of every issue,” Trump posted.
The conversation comes at a tense moment in Middle East diplomacy, with ongoing deadlocks in ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas over the conflict in Gaza. At least 59 hostages are still reportedly being held by Hamas, complicating efforts toward peace.
The call also follows a recent New York Times report alleging that Trump, during his presidency, blocked an Israeli plan to conduct joint strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities—an operation that could have threatened progress toward a U.S.-Iran nuclear agreement.
This phone call marks the first reported discussion between Trump and Netanyahu since the Israeli leader’s visit to the White House two weeks ago.
