President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday presided over the swearing-in of newly appointed members of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and the National Population Commission (NPC). Additionally, he administered the oath of office to eight newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in the Federal Civil Service.
The ceremony, held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, took place before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries emerged after undergoing a rigorous selection process, including a written examination, oral interview, and ICT competency test. Their appointments come as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the federal bureaucracy and improve service delivery across key ministries.
Among the appointees is a renowned healthcare administrator who has contributed to policy implementation and hospital management in the health sector. Another is a procurement expert with extensive experience across multiple ministries. Others include specialists in finance, agriculture, and engineering, each bringing decades of experience in their respective fields.
The swearing-in of the RMAFC members saw 21 new commissioners take the oath of office, representing various states. The new appointees are expected to play a crucial role in revenue allocation, fiscal management, and economic planning at the federal and state levels.
Additionally, one new member was sworn in for both the FCC and NPC, reinforcing the government’s commitment to equitable representation and efficient population data management.
President Tinubu charged the new appointees with upholding the highest standards of service, emphasizing their role in driving national development and ensuring effective governance.
