Tinubu Lands in Brazil for Two-Day State Visit

BRASÍLIA — President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Brazil for a two-day state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and deepening cooperation between Africa’s largest economy and South America’s biggest nation.

The presidential jet touched down at Brasília International Airport at about 12:30 a.m. local time (4:30 a.m. Nigerian time), where Tinubu was warmly received by Brazil’s Secretary for Africa and the Middle East, Carlos José Moreno Garcete, Brazil’s Ambassador to Nigeria, and senior Nigerian officials led by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.

During the visit, President Tinubu will hold high-level talks with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Planalto Palace. Both leaders are expected to oversee the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) before addressing a joint press conference.

The discussions will cover critical areas of cooperation, including agriculture, energy transition, regional security, and other strategic interests designed to foster stronger Nigeria-Brazil relations.
