Tinubu Invites UAE President to Nigeria

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially invited Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to visit Nigeria later this year. The invitation was extended during a bilateral discussion between the two leaders on the sidelines of the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.

According to Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s media aide, the UAE president has accepted the invitation. Tinubu arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday as a guest of Sheikh Mohamed to participate in the prominent global forum, which fosters collaboration on sustainable development and addresses global challenges.

During their talks, Tinubu presented Nigeria’s stance on climate issues and congratulated the UAE leader for the success of the Sustainability Week event. Sheikh Mohamed, in return, expressed gratitude for Nigeria’s participation and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to enhancing economic cooperation with Africa’s most populous nation.

The leaders also discussed strategies for attracting investments into Nigeria, with Tinubu highlighting the positive impact of his government’s economic reforms. He emphasized that these reforms had stabilized and boosted Nigeria’s economy, leading to increased foreign investments, including multi-billion-dollar deals with international oil companies.

In conclusion, President Tinubu thanked Sheikh Mohamed for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation since their arrival in Abu Dhabi, setting the stage for a stronger partnership between Nigeria and the UAE.
