President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially inaugurated the 2024 Christian pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan, marking the beginning of a spiritual journey for thousands of Nigerian faithful.
The flag-off ceremony, themed “Pilgrimage of Renewed Hope for Total Restoration,” underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering spiritual renewal and national progress. The event details were shared by Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations for the Christian Pilgrimage Commission, via the Commission’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday.
Representing the president at the event, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, urged pilgrims to embrace the journey as a transformative experience to strengthen their faith in God and renew their hope in personal and national restoration.
Highlighting the pilgrimage’s alignment with his administration’s vision, President Tinubu called on participants to dedicate their prayers to the development of Nigeria, Lagos State, and their families.
He also issued a stern warning to pilgrims against absconding during their stay in the Holy Land, emphasizing the irreplaceable value of home. “There is no better place than home,” the president stated.
This year’s pilgrimage promises to offer not only spiritual enrichment but also an opportunity for collective prayers for Nigeria’s growth and stability.
