President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday commissioned the newly rehabilitated International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja, which has now been renamed the President Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre.
The unveiling ceremony, held in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was attended by top government officials, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Deputy Senate President Jibril Barau, among others.
The iconic facility, which had been closed for rehabilitation since April 2024, underwent extensive renovations at a reported cost of ₦39 billion.
Tuesday’s commissioning is part of a broader slate of infrastructural projects set to be unveiled by the President in the lead-up to the 2025 Democracy Day celebrations on June 12.
In a moment that lit up the event, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike was seen dancing in celebration as the rehabilitated centre was officially declared open.
